Past Fellowships

Hauser & Wirth Institute’s inaugural Fellowship Program awarded research grants to predoctoral and senior scholars whose work engaged deeply with artists’ archives. In 2020, with the challenges presented by the Covid pandemic, we put a pause on our granting programs while we rethought how to best support archival research in a pandemic and post-pandemic era.

In 2018 and 2019 our Fellowships supported the research of the following scholars:

Tiffany Boyle, The School of Design, Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow, Scotland
Research on: Donald Locke (1930-2010)

Catherine Ingrams, University College London
Research on: Arshile Gorky (1904-1948)

Robin Joyce, The Institute of Fine Arts at New York University, NY, NY
Research on: Philip Guston (1913-1980)
